Liverpool John Moores University

Sue Washington created the Peace of Mindâ„¢ programme, which is part of an MEd at Liverpool John Moore's University and has run very successfully for several years. She also designed the Peace of Mindâ„¢ pack for distance learning, which is validated by the University for Industry (Ufi).

Sue's interest in a multimodal approach to helping people inspired her to develop new and different ideas. She started with her private practice, conducting professional dialogues with an initial group of colleagues. She moved to Liverpool and started Liverpool Holistic Health Centre. Out of this came the Centre Training School of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (CTISHP) which trained around fifty practitioners a year for over twenty years. The coveted United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy validation was gained by CTISHP and the school's practitioners were able to become registered through the accreditation. Sue has been on the Governing Board of the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy for three years. She is also a member of the British Register of Complementary Practitioners and has been an advisor to the Institute of Complementary Medicine.
